Iron Fist S1:E12 Bar the Big Boss

Simple Synopsis

The penultimate episode of the season sees a major shakeup, not that anyone will care in the slightest.

Ward is going through some serious drug withdrawal symptoms when Bakuto shows up to offer him a cure, and an alliance if he will help capture the Iron Fist, he agrees in hopes of getting Joy away from Harold.

Meanwhile Davos doesn’t trust Colleen at all, but Danny insists that she can be trusted about having left the hand. They scuffle a bit and Danny forces them to work together. Davos wants to just blow up the compound, but Colleen insists that her students are still innocent.

Ward arrives at Harold’s loft and tries to get Joy to leave, but is unsuccessful before Bakuto and his goons arrive and kick off a hostage situation. He calls Danny, shoots Joy in the stomach, and offers to spare the Meachums lives if Danny comes to him. Danny appears just before Bakuto cuts off Harold’s head, which would apparently be a permanent death. Danny of course rushes off and surrenders and is being taken away and forced to listen to another recruitment pitch, when he finally manages to summon the fist again long enough to break out of his cuffs. During the ensuing fight, joined by Colleen and Davos, he notices that Bakuto isn’t trying to kill him, and must need him alive. They take out the goons and chase Bakuto down for a final confrontation. Colleen insists on facing him alone, and manages to stab him through the chest, but avoids the killing blow, insisting on arresting him instead. Bakuto calls on Danny to break the chains of his duty as the Iron Fist, but Davos steps in to finish the job and calls Danny a failure again, leading the two men into a face off of their own. Danny loses his temper again and nearly punches the iron fist through Davos’ head before apologizing. Davos, beaten, tells Danny that there will be consequences and limps away. When they turn around Bakuto’s body is gone.

Ward and Harold take Joy to the hospital and Harold tells Ward that Danny is past his usefulness. Meanwhile Danny and Colleen return to the dojo and confess their love for each other and we are treated to a pointless hip hop tai chi scene before Ward warns them to get out and they are attacked by DEA agents, for some unknown reason.

TL;DR
Bakuto is defeated, but may have resurrected. Danny and Colleen are in love again, but he and Davos are enemies. Harold is free, but wants Danny gone.
