Iron Fist S1:E13 Dragon Plays with Fire

Simple Synopsis

At last, the final episode of Iron Fist. Well, at least for the first season.

Harold is back in the world and back at Rand, almost instantly taking over the company despite being legally dead. Danny and Colleen are on the run from the DEA, framed for Gao’s drug trade. Hogarth shows Danny the evidence against him, altered documents from the stolen tablet and asks if they can get the originals to clear his name.

Danny and Colleen head back to the Hand compound to confront Gao, conveniently left behind while everyone else evacuated after Bakuto’s death. More mind games ensue, but Gao tells Danny that Harold was the one that killed his parents. Amazingly he doesn’t really question this.

Danny goes to Ward for help and finds out that the tablet he needs is in a safe in Harold’s office, but that Harold also has bodyguards. He and Colleen “plan” a heist to take it and possibly kill Harold, though they fight over who gets to do it. During the fight the door of the safe is blown off but the tablet is undamaged, so Ward and Colleen grab it while Danny follows Harold up to the roof of the building and manages to get himself shot in his fist hand.

The two struggle and taunt each other for a while and Danny has some flashbacks to scenes from earlier in the series as he contemplates killing Harold, but ends up accidentally kicking him into a pipe and running him through anyway. He decides not to kill him and Harold gets free and tries to shoot him, a shot that manages to ricochet off of his Fist. Knocked off balance Harold is sent over the side of the building when Ward shoots him, managing to kill him a second time.

Danny is exonerated of the drug charges and this time they cremate Harold to prevent his return. Danny decides to return to K’un Lun to try to discover his real destiny, and Colleen goes with him while Claire suggests they both get serious mental treatment. Meanwhile, Davos meets with Joy and offers to help her remove Danny from her life by killing him, and suddenly she’s cool with this. So is a listening Gao.

When they arrive at where K’un Lun should be, Danny and Colleen discover dead Hand goons at the pass and that K’un Lun is gone. Dramatic focus on the Fist and this season is finally wrapped up, so there won’t be any more of this nonsense until the next one.

TL;DR
Danny fights Harold to clear his name and avenge his parents, but Ward kills him in the end. Pointlessness continues, K’un Lun has vanished.
