Alright, finally worked up the courage to slog through another episode of this. The question no one asked: what happens next? Lots of phone calls, apparently.
Spread out across Hawaii, the royal family tries to come to grips with their situation. Gorgon forgets that he can’t swim and tries to dive into the ocean looking for Triton, he gets rescued by some surfers and we get a nod to the idea that this might actually be in the MCU when they admit that they are aware of the term “inhuman” from the news.
Blackbolt, left in the middle of a road by Lockjaw, causes a commotion and an accident before wandering off. He tries to make himself less conspicuous by getting a new suit, but isn’t used to the concept of paying for things, so it brings the cops down on him harder, and he gets arrested.
Karnak forgets that he can use his powers to see if he can safely climb down a hill, gives himself a nasty bump on the head, and basically wanders around in circles in the forest for a while before wondering, as we all do, what the heck is wrong with him.
Meanwhile on Attilan, Maximus captures Crystal and Lockjaw as he attempts to solidify power. He makes a lot of speeches, threatens the genetic council after his future-vision friend sees them plotting against him, and tries to get Crystal on his side. His sidekick Aurah, tricks Crystal into calling Medusa to track her location, though why they didn’t just call themselves is a mystery. Aurah travels to earth to hunt Medusa down.
Medusa finds herself in a volcanic crater on Hawaii and calls Blackbolt a few times, despite knowing that he can’t actually talk to her, she just keeps promising to find him without actually doing much to accomplish that. She catches a bus back into town where she gets the call from Crystal and points out that it’s a trap and destroys her slap phone. Yeah, they have slap bracelet phones. Aurah finds her anyway, they fight, Medusa stabs her and then briefly steals her phone to call Blackbolt again right before he goes to prison. Gorgon also calls Maximus to taunt him in the hopes that Maximus will come to him for a fight.
Louise, the scientist working with the lunar rover, puts together a preposterous theory that four people from the moon have been transported to Earth, and is removed from the project, because NASA prefers to ignore scientific data about observable phenomenon and just assume that the person they hired because she’s brilliant and really good at this sort of thing is kind of crazy, so all of that checks out, motivation-wise. She decides to take some time out and forgo access to all of NASA’s instruments in order to check out Hawaii herself looking for the inhumans and hears about Blackbolt on the news in the cab when she lands, which is a super lucky break for her.
Aurah, somehow surviving her stab wounds, wakes up after what had to be several hours, heals herself with her inhuman powers, and calls for backup in hunting down Medusa.
