The Defenders S1:E4 Royal Dragon

Simple Synopsis

The four heroes hide out for a brief respite, get to know each other, and debate a team up. Information is gleaned, and the fight comes to them.

On the run from the Hand, the heroes take refuge in a nearby restaurant called the Royal Dragon. Matt, still trying to stay away from his life as the Daredevil, wants nothing more to do with the situation, and advises the others to stay clear of it as well, but Luke doesn’t trust him to leave. A quick discussion with Jessica changes Matt’s mind and he agrees to share his identity with the others and do what he can to help. Danny tries to convince them that they are stronger together, and that if they join forces they can stop whatever the Hand is trying to do, but he’s not terribly convincing. The conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Stick.

Alexandra approaches a man named Murakami, and they discuss the situation they have with the Iron Fist and his new friends. She tells him that the other leaders of the Hand are coming together. Meanwhile, Elektra is troubled about her missing past, and is challenged by Sowande, White Hat, but easily defeats his men to prove that she can in fact be a valuable weapon.

Stick fills the group in on some missing details. That the Chaste was an army sworn to serve K’un-lun and the Iron Fist and to stop the Hand, but that he was the only one left alive. That the Hand has been responsible for multiple great catastrophes over the centuries, and that New York is potentially next, to be shaken to rubble. He also calls Danny a dumbass.

Jessica decides she’s had enough of the mystical bullshit and bolts, with Luke following after. He tries to convince her to set aside all of the crazy and focus on the people that will get hurt, but she doesn’t want to get involved in the war. They say goodbye and Luke rejoins the others.

Jessica returns home, looking for more information for her client, but realizes that all of the shell companies she found were founded by someone with the same signature.

Stick explains the connection between the Hand and K’un-lun to the others, and tells them about the five fingers of the Hand: Madame Gao, Sowande, Bakuto, Murakami, and Alexandra. Matt insists on everyone being careful, and gets overwhelmed worrying about the people they care about, storming off thinking about Elektra’s death.

Jessica returns to her client’s house, to confirm that Raymond was into some deep trouble. She says she wants to put security on them, but the wife says someone has already been watching the house from a car on the street.

Danny and Luke discuss the idea of being a team, Luke insists that he’s not looking for friends, and that this is a temporary issue. As the discussion continues, Stick and Matt discuss Elektra and her resurection, with Stick insisting that they will have to kill whatever she has become. A car approaches the restaurant.

Jessica sneaks up on the car and forcefully attempts to make the Hand leave the family alone, catching a message over their radio.

Alexandra sneaks into the Royal Dragon and tries to convince Danny to join her, threatening to have the Hand kill as many New Yorkers as needed until he does. When Danny continues to refuse, Elektra enters, ready to face the heroes. Before she has a chance a car crashes through the front window, running Elektra down. The car is quickly followed by Jessica, joining the line up and ready for a fight.

TL;DR
The heroes get to know each other a bit over hideout dinner, and with the arrival of Stick learn more about the danger that they and the city are in. Slowly they are convinced to join together to face the threat, but the threat then comes to them directly in the form of Alexandra and Elektra.
