Daredevil S1:E3 Rabbit in a Snowstorm

Simple Synopsis

Nelson & Murdock are brought into the Kingpin’s orbit, while Karen and Ben struggle to get closer to the truth.

A killer for hire, a man named Healy, is arrested after taking out one of the Kingpin’s rivals, so Wesley hires Matt and Foggy to take his case as a test run to see if they are worth having on retainer. Matt is hesitant to take the case and suspects Wesley is up to something, but is unable to follow him far after they leave the offices. Convinced that Wesley and Healy could be his way to finding out who has been behind the recent crime wave, Matt talks Foggy into taking Healy’s case after all.

Meanwhile, Ben Urich tries to continue following up on the story, but is shot down by his editor, and has to try to balance his desire for the truth against the financial responsibilities of the paper and his wife’s ongoing illness. Karen is asked to sign a deal that will keep her quiet about Union Allied, but balks. After learning that the widow of her murdered coworker has already signed the deal, she becomes determined to have the story see the light of day, and convinces Ben to get back on the story.

Matt and Foggy take their new case to trial, and Matt discovers that the jury has been tampered with. He hampers the organization’s efforts and frees up the juror, but learns too late that she wasn’t the only one, and the jury is hung, allowing Healy to go free.

As Daredevil, Matt tracks Healy down and finally forces him to reveal a name: Wilson Fisk. Having let the name slip, Healy kills himself rather than face whatever repercussions Fisk might bring upon him and his family.

Elsewhere, Fisk himself contemplates buying art for his loft from a woman that has caught his interest.

TL;DR
Nelson & Murdock are hired to defend a murderer working for Kingpin, and Matt uses the opportunity to reveal Fisk’s name. Ben struggles to stay on the Union Allied story, and is approached by Karen, looking to have the truth exposed.
