Fisk turns up the heat as Daredevil closes in.
Knowing that their enemies know who she is, Matt asks Claire to stay with him for a while, and she accepts. In the process he describes to her how he “sees” the world with his other senses, and describes it as being like the world is on fire. Meanwhile, Vladimir learns of his brother’s death, and is lead to believe that it was at the hands of the man in the mask, sending him on the warpath. Fisk meets with the other conspirators and they agree to his plan to drive the Russians out of their operation.
At the office, Nelson and Murdock are hired for a new case: helping nice older lady Mrs. Cardenas against the landlord that is trying to push everyone out of his building so he can tear it down for condos. Matt heads off to the police station for additional information and sends Foggy and Karen to talk to the landlord’s lawyer, Foggy’s former girlfriend Marcy. While at the police station Matt overhears one of the apprehended Russians give up Fisk’s name, and hears the two cops interrogating him make plans to kill him. Knowing now that the cops are working for Fisk, he sets an ambush for one of them, and steals his phone.
Foggy and Karen then go to see Mrs. Cardenas at her apartment, and decide to pitch in to help repair the damage that the landlord did to try to drive her out, in return she sets them up with a lovely dinner date. Matt brings the stolen phone to Claire and it gives them four addresses, which he believes will lead him to Vladimir, and eventually Fisk. She warns him about becoming too much like the men he is hunting, and begins to rethink their budding romance.
An anonymous tip leads Vladimir to believe that the masked man is working for Fisk, and he vows to take them both out. A reported sighting of Fisk sends him to one of his warehouses to prepare for a confrontation, closely followed by Daredevil, but as they arrive the building, along with several more across the city, burst into flames. One of them is the building that Karen and Foggy are currently in.
Fisk convinces Vanessa to join him for a second date, this time coming clean with her about his criminal activities and his plans to rebuild the city anew. They watch as the city catches fire.
Badly hurt, but alive, Vladimir escapes the burning building vowing revenge on Fisk and his masked attack dog, but Daredevil catches up and beats him down. Before he can answer any questions, the police arrive, putting Matt in a tight bind.
