Relationships continue to break down as we speed toward the end.
Fisk rushes Vanessa into the hospital and tasks Wesley with tracking down the person responsible while arranging to have Vanessa taken out of the city once she recovers. Wesley sends Owlsly to speak to Gao to see if she is still with them.
Ben is furious with Karen for tricking him back into the investigation by taking him to the care home. Karen stops by to visit Matt and realizes that he’s hiding something from her. Claire stops by to tend his wounds and suggests again that he needs to get some armor if he’s going to keep at it. Foggy starts his day at Marci’s place with a hangover and an intention to get drunk again as soon as possible.
Despite Claire’s admonishments against moving, Matt takes to the streets and tracks down Turk for information on Fisk’s tailor. He then visits Melvin Potter, and after a brief fight learns that Potter is working for Fisk under duress, and asks him to make him some armor of his own to help in taking Fisk down.
Owlsly returns and confirms to Wesley that Gao is still on their side, but he insists that Fisk needs to stop moping over Vanessa and get back to business, especially if people are potentially trying to kill him. Fisk misses a call from his mother and asks Wesley to call her back. When he does he learns about Karen and Ben’s visit, and sets out to deal with the matter personally.
Karen confronts Foggy at Josie’s bar and is again told that the information about Fisk’s father won’t be enough to bring him down. She tells Foggy, and then Matt via phone call, that they need to get it together. She calls Ben to make amends as well, worried that everything is falling apart, and is then kidnapped.
When she wakes up, Wesley threatens her life with one of the guard’s guns, and offers her a chance to live, if she promises to work for him and get Ben and the others to convert to being pro-Fisk. She refuses, and when Wesley is distracted by a phone call from Fisk, she snatches the gun and empties it into Wesley, leaving him dead as she flees.
