Another piece of the puzzle falls and revelations are both made and hidden.
Karen struggles with guilt after killing Wesley, and has nightmares of Fisk creeping into her room and killing her. She goes to see Ben, trying to convince him to publish the story now, warning that she fears Fisk knows, but he says that they don’t have enough evidence.
Vanessa wakes from her coma, and convinces Fisk not to send her away, wanting to stay by his side. He is called away when his men discover Wesley’s body, and he begins the search to find out what happened, both to Wesley and Vanessa. He moves his mother to a safer location, but she does not remember her encounter with Ben and Karen.
Ben decides to bring the story to Ellison, asking for it to be published but it is refused. He asks if Ellison has been working for Fisk, and if that is why he can’t get the stories out and is fired from the Bulletin. After talking with his wife, Ben decides he’ll publish the story online regardless, and heads home to write it up.
Foggy takes the information that they have uncovered on the case and brings it to Marci, hoping that she will be able to use it with information from Landman and Zach to help bring down Fisk through the legal system.
Meanwhile, on a tip from Ben, Matt tracks down one of the blind delivery agents working for Madame Gao. He follows the courier back to Gao’s factory and infiltrates it. He confronts Gao about Fisk, but she handily knocks him away, and bullets meant for Daredevil send the factory into flames as she escapes. Matt helps the blind workers get out, but the cocaine operation is done. Gao meets up with Owlsly and we learn that the two worked together specifically to take out Vanessa so she would no longer be a distraction for Fisk. Gao decides to return to her homeland for a while, leaving the others on their own.
When Ben returns home he begins to write up the story, but Fisk is waiting for him, having been told about the story from someone at the paper, and angry that Ben had visited his mother. When Ben confirms that he was the only one to do so, Fisk strangles him.
