Finally, the Marvel vs. Capcom live action episode we’ve all been waiting for as Daredevil faces off with a classic Megaman adversary. Oh, wait, no? Just Daredevil cut to shreds? Oh, still cool, I guess. I’ll give it a pass for that hallway fight. Because that was awesome.
A young man finds Matt wounded and fighting for his life in a dumpster and runs to grab his neighbor, a nurse, for some medical assistance. She takes the injured vigilante to her apartment for treatment and begins to call for an ambulance, but Matt wakes up and insists that the ones after him will kill everyone in a hospital to get to him. He attempts to leave, but passes out from his wounds.
We watch his memories as his father gets badly beat in the ring, but insists that his son never give up, and focus on his studies.
When he wakes again, Matt explains some of the situation to his benefactor, a nurse named Claire. He tells her that he’s been causing problems for the local human trafficking ring, and that they have kidnapped a young boy. He tracked down the boy’s location, but it was a trap and he barely escaped. He warns her that they will be after him, and realizes that they are already on site. He prepares to take the hunter out, but Claire convinces him to let her just talk the guy into leaving. He does, but Matt knows that he was not convinced, and is going for backup, so he drops a fire extinguisher on his head, and they drag the man to the roof for interrogation.
Meanwhile, Karen and Foggy bond when Karen’s new fear of the city’s dark places makes her want to stay away from home. They spend the entire night bar hopping and wondering where Matt is at while getting as drunk as possible.
Long in the past, Matt’s father trains at the gym while Matt tries to learn braille. He is approached by a couple of mobsters who have set up a fight for him, on the condition that he throw the fight. He’ll be paid handsomely, and the money, along with some subtle threats to Matt’s life, convince Jack Murdock to accept the deal.
Claire admits that she has heard stories about the man in the black mask in the hospital emergency ward, and that she helped Matt because she believes that he is doing good work, even if she’s not sure about his methods. When the man they’ve captured wakes up, Matt works him over, with some help from Claire, to get the location where the boy is being held before throwing the guy off the roof and into the trash bin. He sends Claire off into hiding for her protection, and sets off for a rescue.
Jack talks with young Matt, and decides that he’s not going to be forced into throwing the fight. He bets on himself and wins, preparing to go on the run. Unfortunately he doesn’t get far, and the mob guns him down, leaving Matt orphaned.
Matt infiltrates the location where the boy is being held, and in one of the coolest action scenes in recent history, beats his way through a hoard of goons, despite his injuries, to rescue the child.
