Make way for… Mediocrity. In which even the title finds the characters so unmemorable that it has to look up Medusa’s name.
Blackbolt and prisoner friend Sammy take off in Declan’s helicopter and Declan admits that he wants to run experiments on them, if they will allow it, but promises to help Blackbolt find his wife, suggesting that she may already be among the other Inhumans that he’s “protecting” at his facility.
Karnak begins to form a relationship with one of the dope farmers, upsetting one of the others, and somehow this leads to him killing the third, but if this was explained in any way I totally missed it. Gorgon and the remaining surfers, meanwhile, are on the move and Gorgon feels really bad about one of them dying. And Crystal, having arrived on earth, yells at a guy for hitting Lockjaw with his ATV and goes with him back to his place while they wait for his x-girlfriend to show up and use her vet training to help the dog out.
With the rest of the cast’s face time taken care of, it’s time for Medusa. She gets all Thelma for Louise, and the two start to form a friendship while trying to trace down Declan’s helicopter and committing a series of crimes and running from the cops. Medusa keeps trying to ditch Louise and is generally rude to her, but Louise is just having a fantastic time hanging out with the moon queen, so she’s cool with it.
While they are trying to track BB down, the man himself starts to get really paranoid about Declan’s real intentions, and rightfully so as it turns out that he’s actually working with Maximus, who wants to use his research to reset himself to being inhuman again in the hopes that a second teragenesis will give him an actual power instead of just making him fully human. Learning that BB is on the premises, Max orders Declan to kill BB, but is told that he can’t be used to reach Max’s goal if he’s dead. Afterward, Max makes more moves to secure power, and is ticked that the Genetic Council won’t let him experiment on himself to get powers, so he kills them.
Knowing BB’s location and wanting him taken alive, Max redirects Auran and the rest to capture him, just as he and Sammy are escaping from the lab. BB damages a gas tank, thinking that the gas would prevent Mordis from using his power as it would potentially kill everyone, but he underestimates how stupid Auran is, because she orders him to fire anyway, and how stupid Mordis is, because he does it anyway, and the entire hunting party is taken out in a giant fireball. Sammy and Blackbolt survive, the rest are probably just knocked out. Just before this goes down, Thelma and Louise show up and smack Mordis with their car door as they drive by, which slows him down for like half a second or so.
Medusa and Blackbolt have a heartfelt reunion, and realize that Locus, from the hunting party, is both still alive, and has a power that could help them find the others, so they throw her in the trunk of the car, and the four of them drive off with her as Mordis starts to twitch and wake up.
