Iron Fist S1:E9 The Mistress of All Agonies

Simple Synopsis

“What are we doing here?” Colleen asks. We wonder the same thing.

Harold comes back to life, presumably a side effect of the Hand’s procedure and wanders around for a while trying to remember who he is. Some random new guy starts staking out Rand looking for Danny. Meanwhile Danny, Claire, and Colleen are back in the dojo interrogating Gao and getting nowhere as she keeps playing mind games with them. They decide to send Danny back to Rand to get some “truth serum” to aid in the questioning. On the way he runs into Joy and finds out they’ve been ousted from the company, but he has no problem convincing people to give him the drug anyway.

Harold starts to come to his senses, but is obviously still not right in the head. He has his assistant Kyle call Ward over for a heart to heart, which freaks Ward out entirely. After Ward asks to be left alone he goes to see the leader of the Hatchet Men looking for a way to kill Harold for good, only to find out that he’ll keep coming back to life, and be crazier each time, and that he’s a particular threat to those closest to him. That prediction comes true quickly when Harold kills Kyle over a small misunderstanding. On his way out of the meeting Ward finds that Harold has planted heroin in his car to get him arrested and locked up in an institution. Joy later returns to Harold’s penthouse, and he lets her in for a heartfelt reunion.

Meanwhile the interrogation isn’t going well, they can’t tell if Gao is still lying or telling the truth, but they can tell that Colleen is getting sicker and sicker, and eventually realize that she’s been exposed to the Hand’s favorite poison, somehow. She alternates between nearly dying and being perfectly ok to fight when they are set upon by military mercenaries when they expected Hand ninjas, but she has them call her old sensei to help. When he arrives his team takes care of the mercenaries and he teaches Danny how to use the iron fist to punch poison out of someone, so I guess he can do that now, or whatever. Wasting no time Sensei Bakuto and Colleen sweep Danny and Gao up into a van and take off for places unknown, leaving Claire behind wondering what the heck just happened, as the stalker we saw earlier looks on.

TL;DR
Gao is good at resisting interrogation and at mind games. Harold is still alive, and even more crazy. Ward is committed, Colleen is poisoned, and Danny has healing powers.
