Luke joins the fight, but Kilgrave is busy powering up to take on Jessica.
Luke tells Jessica that he followed her to the restaurant where Hope died, and confronted Kilgrave as he left, but ended up being controlled. He blew up the bar at Kilgrave’s order. He insists on joining Jessica in helping to take Kilgrave down.
Trish prepares for her release from the hospital and gives Jessica a call to let her know that a mysterious company, IGH, may be responsible for Simpson’s pills. She’s interrupted by a surprise visit from her mother, but she tells her to leave.
Working off of a hunch that Kilgrave is keeping Albert alive in an attempt to increase his abilities, Jess and Luke investigate Albert’s apartment, and get a lead for a local drug company. Staking out the company, Luke forgives Jessica for Reva’s murder. They spot a possible currier and Jessica follows him, only to watch him die in central park, leaving them nowhere.
Back at home, Trish receives another visit from her mother, this time with an offering of information: proof that IGH was also involved with Jessica, and may have something to do with her powers. Trish goes to bring this information to Jessica, but declines to mention it when she sees that Luke is with her.
Malcom struggles with his desire to give up on people and leave, but stops on his way out to help Robyn in an altercation. To try to help her through her grief she takes him to the pier where he dumped Ruben’s body to let her say goodbye, and remembers the value of helping people.
Jessica and Luke start looking for evidence of Kilgrave testing his powers and visit a nightclub where he was spotted. Kilgrave himself shows up and tries unsuccessfully to control Jessica, but reveals that the time his control lasts has been greatly improved, and Luke has been doing his bidding the entire time. He orders Luke to kill Jessica and it puts her in a desperate fight for her life.
She tries to hide, but a phone call alerts Luke to her location and he busts through a wall trying to get to her. He tries to fight off Kilgrave’s control but fails. Jessica tosses him through another wall and races outside, but gets stopped by cops coming to check out the disturbance. Luke knocks them out and catches her, but not before she grabs a shotgun from the patrol car. He tells her to do what she has to, but can’t stop himself from drawing back for the final blow, forcing her to shoot him in the head at point blank range, knocking him out.
