Luke’s name is spreading around.
After taking numerous hits in a row, Cottonmouth’s position is starting to feel really tenuous. He orders his men to hit the city hard, shaking down all of the businesses they can to try to recoup their losses, with the order that his men blame Luke Cage for the new tax.
As Luke prepares for Pop’s funeral he gets word about what Cottonmouth’s men have been doing, and people keep coming to him for help. He continues to meet Cottomouth’s crew in the streets, shaking them down to get back what they’ve stolen. He goes to see Cottonmouth at Harlem’s Paradise, telling him to step off, but this only pisses him off. Shades finally recognizes Carl Lucas and is shocked to find he is still alive. Seeing his bulletproof skin in action, he fills Cottonmouth in on the existence of the extremely expensive Judas bullet, made of alien metal from the incident it could be the only bullet capable of hurting Cage. In order to clear his name enough to get a loan from Diamondback to purchase the bullet, Cottonmouth puts plans in action to retrieve Domingo’s guns from the cops with Scarfe’s help.
Pop’s funeral gets a bit intense as both Cottonmouth and Luke give speeches talking about their views of Harlem, and Luke leaves Cottonmouth humiliated. Misty warns Luke that he needs to stop, that his war is going to get innocent people in Harlem killed, but he is determined to see it through. Scarfe manages to steal the guns, but at the last second decides not to hand them back over to Cottonmouth.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city, Claire arrives. She has decided to move back home to her mother in Harlem after having lost her job during the events of Daredevil’s second season. She tells her mother that after her encounters she has decided that what she really wants to do is to help people with abilities. She learns that Luke is in town as well.
